How to Test Your Game Controller

This online Gamepad tester tool allows you to check if your controller input is working correctly. It is compatible with Xbox (360/One/Series), PlayStation (DualShock/DualSense), and generic USB gamepads.

Instructions

  • Connect: Plug your controller into a USB port or connect via Bluetooth.
  • Wake Up: Press any button to send a signal to the browser. The status above will change to "Connected".
  • Test Inputs: Press face buttons, move analog sticks, and test specific triggers. The visualizer will light up corresponding buttons.

Troubleshooting Not Detected?

If your controller is not being detected, try pressing a button first. Browsers often block controller input until a user gesture occurs. On Linux, Bluetooth controllers may not report axis data correctly in some browsers; try using a wired connection.

Dead Pixel Check

Dead pixels are spots on your screen that fail to change color. They usually appear as black dots (dead) or bright colored dots (stuck).

Instructions

Click "Start Screen Test" to enter full screen. Click repeatedly to cycle through Red, Green, Blue, White, and Black backgrounds. Look closely for any tiny dots that do not match the background color.

CPS Speed Test

The "Clicks Per Second" test measures how fast you can trigger mouse inputs. This is a popular metric in the Minecraft PVP community (Jitter clicking, Butterfly clicking).

What is a good CPS?

  • Casual: 4-7 CPS
  • Gamer: 8-12 CPS
  • Pro/Glitch: 15+ CPS (Drag clicking)

Mouse Polling Rate (Hz) Checker

Polling rate (measured in Hz) is how often your mouse reports its position to the computer. A higher polling rate means smoother and more responsive cursor movement.

Common Rates

  • 125 Hz: Standard office mice (reports every 8ms).
  • 500 Hz: Gaming standard (reports every 2ms).
  • 1000 Hz: High-end gaming (reports every 1ms).

Event Log

Mouse Double Click Test

Does your mouse act weird? If a single click registers as two, you might have a faulty microswitch. This issue is common in older mice as the metal contacts wear out.

How to interpret

Click the test area normally. The log should show "Normal". If you see a Warning or "DOUBLE CLICK DETECTED", your mouse sent two signals within 80 milliseconds, which is mechanically impossible for a human finger to do intentionally.

Testing your visual reflexes

Online Microphone Test

Test your microphone volume and clarity directly in the browser. This secure tool visualizes your audio input in real-time, helping you debug issues before a call.

Privacy Note

Your audio is processed locally within your browser. No audio data is sent to any server or recorded.

Troubleshooting

If the visualizer remains flat, check your browser permissions. Click the lock icon in the address bar and ensure "Microphone" is set to "Allow". Also verify that the correct input device is selected in your OS sound settings.

Webcam Resolution & FPS Test

Is your camera working? Use this tool to see your camera feed and check technical details like resolution and aspect ratio.

Why is my screen black?

Ensure no other application (like Zoom or Teams) is currently using the camera. Only one app can access the video feed at a time. Also check browser permissions.

Low Quality?

If the video looks grainy, check your lighting. Webcams automatically increase "gain" in low light, which introduces noise. Good lighting is the best way to improve quality.

Stereo Sound Test

Verify your speakers or headphones are correctly wired for stereo sound.

How to use

  • Left Channel: Should only be heard from your left speaker/earbud.
  • Right Channel: Should only be heard from your right speaker/earbud.
  • Both: Should be centered.

Fixing Balance Issues

If looking at the screen, "Left" is your left hand side. If the sounds are swapped, your headphones might be on backwards or your speakers plugged into the wrong ports.

Online Tone Generator

Generate pure sine waves and other waveforms to test your audio equipment's frequency response. Useful for checking subwoofer bass capability or testing for high-frequency hearing loss.

Hearing Range

Humans can typically hear from 20Hz to 20kHz. As we age, the upper limit decreases. Most adults cannot hear above 15-16kHz.

Warning

Start with a LOW VOLUME. High frequency sounds can be damaging to your ears and speakers if played too loud.

Keyboard Ghosting & Function Test

Test every key on your keyboard to ensure switches are working. This tool is useful for checking "N-Key Rollover" (Ghosting) to see how many keys you can press simultaneously.

What is Ghosting?

Ghosting occurs when a keyboard cannot register multiple keys pressed at once. Cheap office keyboards often jam after 3-4 keys. Gaming keyboards usually support 6-key or N-key rollover.

Mouse Buttons & Sensor Test

Check if all your mouse buttons are registering clicks. This tool visualizes Left, Right, Middle (Scroll Wheel) clicks, and additionally side buttons (Back/Forward) if supported by your browser.

Testing Scroll Wheel

The scroll value above updates as you scroll up and down. If scrolling feels "jumpy" or goes in the wrong direction, your scroll encoder might be dirty or failing.
